Give Back at EXPO
Season 2, Episode 19 • 31m
You have a chance to give back to our host city of Albuquerque by participating in the pre-EXPO Paint-It-Forward project on February 21.
The Gibson Health Hub has deep historical ties to the local community. Formerly a hospital, many residents recall their children born or urgent care needs treated at this facility. After years of undergoing changes in ownership, the City of Albuquerque acquired it in 2021.
As part of the city's larger "One Albuquerque" initiative, the goal is to restore the facility to its former glory by creating a resource hub for people experiencing homelessness or suffering from addiction. Revamped services will now include addiction and psychiatric treatment as well as a women's shelter, a medical respite center, a sobering center, and even resources designed to assist people find permanent housing and connect them to job opportunities.
PCA's Paint-It-Forward project will primarily focus on bringing the interior entrance back to life by restoring and repainting the iconic lobby. Your day of painting will leave a lasting impact on the residents of Albuquerque for generations.
Make sure to come early and participate. All you have to do is check the Paint-It-Forward box on your EXPO registration form.
